New wonders for a new century - Art Nouveau.
Art Nouveau spaned the late and early years of the last two centuries (1890-1914) and sprang from the Arts and Craft Movement. The highly imaginative forms were extremely decorative, although an individual designers interpretation of Art Nouveau was often varied.
Art Nouveau became officially recognized following the International Exhibition of Paris, 1900, and is epitomized by the glassworkers Galle and Tiffany, and the jewellery of Lalique.
